And the "Mother of the Year" award goes to...

Not me. Today was one of those days. Guy cried for a good 2 1/2 hours. He normally doesn't act like that. He is very well natured and happy. So, today he got up, as usual. Ate his breakfast, as usual. I got him dressed, as usual. He was happy. About 10 minutes later, it was all over. All he wanted to do was cry, flop on the floor, and cry some more. I thought maybe he was still hungry. Nope. I thought maybe was thirsty. Nope. I thought, maybe he just wanted to nap, so I put him in his crib, and he cried. I let him cry for about 20 minutes before I got him, and, what-do-you-know, he had pooped. I thought, maybe he just had a stomach ache and he should feel better now. Nope. He cried and arched his back when I held him. He cried and arched his back when I put him down. Finally, I decided he wanted to go out for a walk. That didn't help either. In the back of my head I kept thinking something is really wrong. He doesn't act like this. I need to take him to the doctor and figure it out. I decided to take it up with the Big Man first, and I knelt in prayer. I asked to know what to do. I decided to take him on another walk, but let him actually walk this time. Screaming, he walked down the driveway, and fell. I heard the Spirit voice to me that I should "Check his shoe". I ran down the driveway and pulled off his shoes and socks, to find that his big toe had been tucked under his other toes and was bright red, except for the tip, which was white. He had immediate relief and stopped crying and laid his head on my shoulder. I just cried and thanked My Father for His guidance.
Guy is in slippers for the duration of the day. He will not let me put his shoes on him. Can I blame him...no!!!

Mother of the Year...I am NOT!

  2. Exactly what Dez said, Thank God. He answers prayers.

How in the world did you manage to tuck his big toe under and still put shoes on?

  3. What a good parenting story, sometimes we are so helpless when we can't figure out what is going on.
